About Us
Volunteer with us
We need you!
We want to build a pool of fantastic people to support our community events programme including Art in the City, Film on the Fal, MusicTruro, City of Lights and Cornwall Film Festival. The events are operated on a not for profit basis and are designed to be fun, creative and ambitious to achieve strategic community-focused aims.
Volunteers are vital to our events to provide support in health & safety marshalling, reception services, box office, customer information and bar staffing.
Our volunteers' scheme is separate to the work experience placements and volunteers undertake training as needed for the event(s) they are working on. Training includes event safety, child protection, crowd control and communication skills. Volunteers work alongside WEX (work experience staff) and our staff to deliver our events with tasks allocated according to individual interests for development and strengths.
Volunteering can make a positive impact on your life too. It is a tool to build confidence, help you face new challenges, and teach you new skills. Not every volunteer experience is the same, but by finding an opportunity that matches your interests, you have a good chance of having fun while making a difference.
Event Cornwall commits to providing volunteers with key information in advance of the event and all event specific materials. There will always be a staff briefing and training session before each event and, where appropriate, food/drink will be provided.
