Case Study - City of Lights
We have event-managed City of Lights for the last 5 years as well as working with the voluntary steering group to develop as an organisation.
This fantastic project has survived for the last 14 years purely through the commitment and passion of the founders and steering group members and the group is now looking to build in stability and forward planning. We work with City of Lights on an ongoing basis throughout the year, leading development sessions, chairing meetings, facilitating creative strategy discussions and developing the business plans going forward.
There are many opportunities for City of Lights but with little capacity in-house and no organisational structure, some of these are missed. Our involvement has been to work with the Steering Group to ensure that time developing these opportunities is not wasted but rather focused and productive. As well as the strategic development support, we have provided fundraising support, including cultivating sponsorship and online giving, developing a Friends scheme and creating a robust income generation strategy for the organisation.
We have also enabled City of Lights to incorporate as a community interest company and have written the business plan for 2011 - 2014, based on the development session with the Steering Group in February 2011. The future for City of Lights is bright!
