Case Study - Heartlands Project
The Heartlands Project is a multi million £ restoration and regeneration project, which will transform the physical and built environment in Pool to create a thriving community hub for local residents and a landmark destination for visitors.
The site will include the restored heritage landmark Robinsons Shaft, open gardens and parkland, outdoor theatre spaces and state of the art indoor venue and conference facilities.
We have been working with Heartlands to propose and develop an exciting, innovative and sustainable programme of events and activities from 2011. Our relationship has been ongoing since 2009 when we completed a research and development contract on regional cultural activity and recommended creative and community event activity. In 2010, in collaboration with the Heartlands team, we designed and delivered the media and community launch events on the Pool building site, which featured dance, live music and theatre within the atmospheric ruined mine buildings, and the aspirational release of 1000 balloons across Cornwall, each tagged with a dream for the future from a local school child.
We continued to work with Heartlands on the launch party in 2011.
