Event Cornwall offers both business based training and mentoring services across the South West region.

Our range of 1 to 5 day courses for emerging and aspiring event managers are designed to be interactive and inspiring and are filled with practical content based on real projects.

Our mentoring sessions provide opportunities for one-to-one support, focusing on your questions and needs as an event professional.

In developing and delivering education and training activity, we demonstrate our integrity and best practice approach to event management. We strive to ensure that every course we deliver is informed by the most up to date and relevant information about the sector and the wider economic and cultural climates. This approach also ensures that we constantly re-assess what we do as a business and how we do it.

The courses are:

  • INTRO TO EVENT MANAGEMENT - this course will cover the basics of planning, marketing, strategy, people management and finance and will consider how they all interconnect to create an event and achieve the event objectives
  • EVENT DESIGN & MARKETING - this course will look at the event design process in relation to event aims & objectives and the event audience. In the second part of the day, we will explore event marketing plans and how they ensure that event aims are achieved.
  • EVENT PLANNING & OPERATIONS - using a range of planning tools, this course will cover the operational aspects of events including scheduling, risk assessment, outdoor event considerations, sourcing content and suppliers, contracting and on-site event delivery.
  • DELIVERING BEST PRACTICE EVENTS - in this course, we will consider how to ensure quality in events including sustainability, evaluation, safeguarding, accessibility, and the service approach to event management.
  • SUSTAINABLE EVENT MANAGEMENT - based on the triple bottom line principles, this course looks at key approaches to developing events sustainably and their ongoing sustainable development. Specifically, we look at minimising environmental impact for events of all kinds.
